Theories of psychotherapy and counselling : concepts and cases
Defining Psychoterapy and counseling is difficult, as there is little agreement on definitions and wherether there is any difference between the two. The brief defenition given her covers both psychoterapy and counseling. Psychoterapy and counseling are interactive beetwen a therapist/conselor and one or more clients/patiens. The purpose is to help the patient/client with problems that may have aspects that are related to disorders of thinking, emotional suffering, or problems of behavior. Therapist may use their knowledge of theory of personality and psychoteraphy or counseling to help thepatient/client improve functioning. The therapist's approach to helping must be legally and ethically approved.
